Knowing how to do effective keyword research is one of the basics you
should master straight away. So how do the gurus & super affiliates do
their keyword research?
While it is true that many do have favorite paid product they like such
as Traffic Travis, Market Samurai & Micro Niche Finder, you should be
surprised how many super affiliates do not bother with paid programs, but keep
their keyword research simple.
1 reason: they have focused so much on the
lists they serve; they have developed a strong, natural feel for what is going
to work & what is not. They have got an ear on the net, & they know
what trends are hot, what is evergreen, what problems their niche members are
having their keyword research, & the long tailed keywords they pick, are
informed by all these factors.
But they do actually still research keywords, & here are two of the
most popular methods I have seen used by super affiliates…
Method No: 1
1st: Access Word trackers
free keywords tool & type in your keyword. Pick likely long tailed keywords
three words or more from the results.
2nd: Check these
phrases in Google's search box, contained in quotes.
3rd: If there are a
good number of searches, but these searches are still under 150,000, you have
most likely got a viable niche to work.
Method No: 2
This just takes the above method one step further.
1st: Access Word tracker
& find some long tailed keywords you think might be likely suspects
2nd: Go to Google
Adwords KeyTool it is free & enter your phrases
3rd: Check the results use
"exact" mode, & focus only on monthly global search.)
4th: If the results for
your phrase show some keyword competition the little green "bars" are
present & your results are over 1,000 in exact monthly global search, go to
Google.
5th: Check the phrase,
in quotes, in their search box. If your results in Google Search still fit the
under-150,000 criteria, you have got a winner!
The lower the number in Google, the better but it should still have a
good number of searches.
The higher in Adwords, the better but there is a point where Adwords
competition is too strong.
Use your common sense to decide what will work for you.
